self-conscious
self-conscious (adj.) - excessively aware of being observed by others
Ive always been very self conscious my whole life and growing up I learned I am not alone. I soon learned that we were concerned of what others thought of us as an individual and these things would be materialistic until this self consciousness got a grasp of you.. then things weren't as materialistic but we became idealistic and aimed for this perfection that we compared ourselves to in our peers. And we become more and more concerned on these ideas striving for this idea of "perfect" trying to meet that goal but what we don't realize is that we reached that goal a long time ago. That we met it when we were created, and that we were created in God's image and that was glorious , because being made in the likeness of God.
Romans 5:8 " God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. "
While we are concerned about what these others think and striving to become more like them we loose sight over what God already created us to be : like HIM. Jesus died for who we were as sinners so therefore we could strive to become more like him. So let's stop striving to be like our peers and start striving to become more like Jesus because he died for who we are as sinners and saved us because we are made in the image of him and the likeness of God.
Do you portray that you are made in the image and the likeness of God?
Because I hope and pray when someone looks at me they think "she has a heart like Jesus"
